This afternoon saw the girls take on their hardest challenge in summer tournaments so far. In the groups stages, we suffered defeat to the eventual winners of the trophy, Grimoldby, had solid draws against the Lionessess of Greenbank and Barrowby Girls and finished with a great win against Greenbank Panthers. This set up a medal semi-final vs Cleethorpes. Los Blancos found another gear and came away convincing winners to claim our place in the finals vs the always brilliant girls of Barrowby. The final was a great spectacle for girl's football, with boths sets of girls pushing through the pain barrier in the beating sun and serving up a classic. The Griffins girls stood strong and once again found another level to force the win and claim their medals. Coaches, grown-ups and siblings watching from the sidelines were treated to a great day of football. A huge thank you to Greenbank for putting on such a brilliant day and also to the referees for doing a great job in testing conditions. These girls keep on amazing us all week after week, what a special bunch they are!
