Los Blancos travelled over to Grimsby on Saturday to play the Lionesses. It was a really competitive game with the mighty whites edging the first half on chances created. They were very unlucky not to go in at half time with a lead with the cross bar and the Grimsby keeper’s heroics keeping us at bay.

The second half was more of the same, Grimsby were quickest out the blocks at halftime with two quick fire goals but our Griffins kept going and turned the tide. With 15 minutes to go we found the back of the net with a well worked goal that ended with a composed side footed finish from Evie. The girls kept pushing until the final whistle but unfortunately couldn’t find the equaliser. Despite the loss it was probably one of the best team performances we’ve seen all season.

Player of the match was awarded to Evie who didn’t stop running and played her best game for us yet whilst bagging herself a goal. Parents player went to Lottie who was immense, covering every blade of grass to make vital clearances and create several chances.
