After weeks and weeks of boring weekends, finally it was back to Saturday morning football at Birchwood for the mighty Whites ! We welcomed the newly formed Louth FC U12 Girls to Lincoln and were very impressed with their attitude and non-stop all action display. After a slow start, Los Blancos soon warmed up and found our rhythm. Louth proved worthy opponents and won plenty of challenges early on with their goalkeeper seemingly unbeatable! The game finally swung our way and after a 'Hammo' thunderbolt, the Whites relaxed and started to string some lovely passes together. The Griffins soon flowed forward with real intent and there were outstanding performances all over the pitch. On the scoresheet alongside Emily H were Emily F (4), Rosie (2), Evie and Skylar. A huge amount of credit must go to Louth, they stood strong, showed amazing attitude and their team spirit was a delight to witness. We wish them all the very best for the coming season and thank them for travelling. Our fantastic grown-ups voted Rosie as their player of the match. She battled hard, was intelligent with her use of space and finished well for both of her goals. Alice deservedly picked up the coaches' player of the match for her next level workrate, positive attitude and she so very nearly got the goal she deserved. A very positive start to what we hope will be another thoroughly enjoyable season for the Griffins U12 Whites.
