Los Blancos welcomed the Greenbank Panthers for our home game on Saturday and it was a real end to end game. A slow start from our Griffins saw us lose two early goals but Lottie took the game by the scruff of its neck with a characteristic drive from midfield and strike on goal to take us into half time trailing 2-1.
The second half saw us concede an early 3rd goal but the girls dug deep and after some good phases of play the opposition goal opened up for a composed Hammo finish. That took us back to within one goal and the equaliser came late on with some nice work from Skylar to find Emily F who finished clinically to bring us back on level terms. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be for the Mighty Whites and they conceded a fourth goal from a fantastic last second free kick on the edge of the Griffins box. Emilia in goal did really well just to get fingertips to it. The final whistle followed and although the girls were disappointed they fought really hard throughout the match and should be proud of themselves for never giving up.
Player of the match went to Alice who put in a strong performance and made some crucial tackles in defence. Parents Player went to Skylar who worked tirelessly on the right showing her usual nifty footwork and put some great crosses into the box.
As always we would like to say a massive thank you to our kit sponsor Brook & Mayo electrical contractors. Your support means everything.
