So today our U10’s played there first game at home against Broughton Ravers,
The excitement has been building all week and with the arrival of the new kit and rain jackets which has been sponsored by -
Hartley’s Home Improvements
The girls were even more excited,
As kick off was approaching you could tell there were a lot of nerves running through the team,
Our captain Ruby started the game off for Griffins and within a few minutes the girls were definitely taken back with the strong pressure from the travelling side.
As the game went on we started to settle and started to play some really nice football and you could tell the girls were starting to enjoy themselves, the team spirit showed throughout the game, Broughton ravers showed great sportsmanship throughout. Although it wasn’t our day, Myself and Jess couldn’t be more prouder of their effort and determination.
We did have goals from Isla and Ruby, well done to them.
Player of the game went to the team, however the trophy went home with Amelia who has one the hardest job in a team playing in goal, she had some show stopping saves which any keeper would be proud off,
Certainly a lot to work on in training however we do have the foundations of a fantastic team.
